Benjamin S. Carson, M.D.
(1951 - )
Carson is a Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon who performs medical
miracles. He led the first successful operation to separate Siamese
twins attached at the back of the head and has since performed
similar operations on other twins. His achievements are especially
amazing considering that he was once an underachieving, inner-city
youth. Fortunately, his mother challenged him to strive for excellence
and fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor. He attributes his
blessings to God and has thanked him by helping others. He co-founded
Angels of the OR to fund medical expenses of needy families without
insurance, wrote three inspiring bestsellers, and established
the Carson Scholars Fund to honor students for academic and humanitarian
achievements. |
