Honorable Brock Adams
Brock Adams graduated from the University of Washington in 1949 and earned a degree from Harvard Law School in 1952. In 1961 he became a U.S. attorney, making him the youngest person then holding that position. Beginning in 1965, he completed six consecutive terms in the Washington State House of Representatives. He was appointed U.S. Secretary of Transportation in 1977 and served as Washington State senator between 1987 and 1993. During his tenure, Mr. Adams raised over $190 million for AIDS research and helped establish Amtrak.
