Mr. Walter Anderson
Mr. Walter Anderson is CEO of Parade Magazine and author of five books. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he graduated Mercy College as valedictorian. He became editor of the Standard Star in 1973, and in 1980 launched his career at Parade. Along the way he supported literacy and the rights of the disabled. Currently, Mr. Anderson serves on the advisory boards of Literacy Volunteers of America and the National Center for Family Literacy, besides being director of the National Dropout Prevention Fund. In 1994, the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans gave him an award in recognition of his achievements.
