Nancy Brinker

Nancy Brinker is a breast cancer survivor and founder of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, named in honor of her sister. The foundation that Brinker established following her sister's death in 1981 is now a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through research and education. Since its inception, the foundation has raised over $225 million and inspired millions to join in its annual "Race for the Cure." Between 2001 and 2003, Brinker took some time off from the foundation to serve as U.S ambassador to Hungary, where she similarly advanced the cause of women's health by raising awareness of breast cancer.
