Honorable Jeanne Shaheen

Jeanne Shaheen was elected to three consecutive terms as governor of New Hampshire. During her tenure in office, she launched an innovative public-private partnership, the Healthy Kids Children's Health Insurance Plan, to help parents buy affordable health insurance for their children. She successfully pushed through the legislature her HMO Accountability Act and declared November 29 th as End of Life Care Day in the state. Shaheen previously served three terms in the state senate, after obtaining a Masters in political science. She is currently director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
