Hon. Joseph Tydings

Joseph Tydings served in the Maryland legislature for seven years. From 1961 to 1963, he was the U.S. attorney for Maryland, appointed by President Kennedy. Afterward, he served in the U.S. Senate, where he introduced the National Family Planning Program, Title X, of the Public Health Service Act. Since leaving the Senate he has provided legal counsel to a broad spectrum of national and international clients. He serves on the board of many charitable organizations and is co-chairman of Population Action International in Washington, D.C. He also has raised funds for the United Nations Fund for Population Activities. |
