Hon. J. Bennett Johnston

Johnston's political career spanned 32 years, including 8 years in the Louisiana legislature and 24 years in the U.S. Senate. He served as chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee from 1986 to 1994 and was ranking member from 1995 to 1996. His career produced a long list of legislative triumphs, including measures to provide navigation, flood control, hurricane protection, and other infrastructure projects critical to Louisiana's future. He also founded The J. Bennett Johnston Science Foundation to support scientific research that can assist the policy-making process. He is now CEO of Johnston & Associates, a Washington, D.C. consulting firm. |
