Hon. Donald M. Fraser

Donald M. Fraser has the distinction of being the longest-serving mayor in Minneapolis history. In his 10 years in office, he expanded support to families beyond public programs, increased employment, and promoted community policing. He also served in state and national organizations that support education. During his final term in office, he was elected president of the National League of Cities. Before becoming mayor, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives and was a state senator in the Minnesota legislature. In retirement, he has contributed to civic life through his involvement with the Bretton Woods Committee and Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights. |
