Honorable Dick Clark

After starting life as a history professor, Dick Clark entered public service in 1972 when he became Iowa state senator. In 1979, President Jimmy Carter appointed him ambassador at large and U.S. coordinator for refugee affairs. Since 1980, he has been senior fellow and vice president at the Aspen Institute of Humanistic Studies where he commits his time to issues concerning education and the global environment. Clark holds a bachelor's degree from Upper Iowa University and a master's degree from the University of Iowa. He has drawn on his academic and practical experience to produce works dealing with foreign policy, government, and politics.
