Deepak Chopra, M.D.

Deepak Chopra M.D. is a pioneer of alternative medicine, who has transformed our view of health. Formerly chief of staff at Boston Regional Medical Center, Chopra began to look beyond conventional medicine after realizing perfect health is more than the absence of disease. He envisioned a system that combined western medicine with natural healing traditions and acknowledged the link between body and psyche. This led him to establish the Chopra Center for Well Being and to explain his tenets of healing in many acclaimed books. In 1999, Time dubbed him one the top 100 heroes and icons of the century and "the poet-prophet of alternative medicine."
