Hon. Bob Livingston

Livingston was the first Republican to represent Louisiana's First Congressional District in 102 years. He served as member and chair of the House Appropriations Committee and also served on the House Select Committee on Intelligence. In 1997, he chaired the bi-partisan Ethics Reform Task Force and shepherded 13 appropriations bills through the legislative process. He also helped revamp House ethics rules. He was elected speaker of the house by his colleagues but resigned in order to spend more time with his family. In 1999, he established a successful lobbying firm known as the Livingston Group. As part of his practice, Livingston works to make sure the U.S. retains a reasonable, market-based approach to the delivery of medical services.
