Frequently Asked
Questions about the Caring Institute
What is the mission of the Caring Institute?
The Caring Institute was founded in 1985 to honor the values
of caring, integrity, and public service. Our inspiration was
the great Mother Teresa who taught us that all the world’s
problems can be solved if people truly care for one another.
We act on this belief by celebrating the special people who transcend
self to serve the disabled, disadvantaged, and dying. By honoring
them, we strive to promote their work and present them as role
models for all.
What are the goals of the Caring Institute?
We want to reinforce the message the one person can make a difference.
We maintain that you can do well by doing good and that you succeed
in life when you improve the lives of others. Every little bit
helps, so we urge everyone to join us in building a better America
and a better world.
What are the programs of the Caring Institute?
We run several programs to inspire, recognize, and reward acts
of caring. The Caring Awards honor the world’s most caring
people at a special ceremony and give scholarships to caring young
adults. We offer internships to college students, teach school
children the value of public service, and provide respite for seriously
ill kids. Working with Give Kids
the World, we send them and their families for six days in
Disney World, where thoughts of the hospital give way to happiness
and hope. |
